Going on an expedition to Denbigh? Here is Terry's assessment of
your accommodation options:
In a vain attempt to get my Gold/Diamond heights I have
visited Denbigh a number of times and enjoy the flying
there. Also, I find the members very helpful and
welcoming. I always try to stay at The Cayo Guest House
(Tel 01745-812686, Mrs McCormack). It is situated on the
High Street in Denbigh and from the outside doesn't look
too impressive. But it is clean, comfortable, welcoming
and very reasonable........in 2001 it was about £22/night
with an excellent breakfast. Equally important is that Mrs McCormack was happy
to accept my bookings on the understanding I could cancel without penalty if
the weather was unsuitable. I have also stayed at a local farmhouse called
Bach-y-Graig (01745-730627, Mrs Roberts). Very comfortable but more
expensive...circa 34/night. Though they do have self-contained/self-catering
suite with three bedrooms if this is appropriate. The Bull Hotel is another
regular for Club visitors but from what I have seen of it it would not get my
vote. If you need any additional information give me a call, Terry
Salter.
